Maureen Northrup - Administrative Director
Maureen is a graduate of Marygrove College, she earned a Master's Degree at U of D Mercy and is a Licensed Michigan Social Worker. She retired after 30 years as a social worker in Northwest Detroit advocating for children to ensure their safety and well-being.
Maureen came to Christ the King October 1, 2009 and she is committed to the mission of caring for those in need, whatever that might be.
She now serves as the Christian Service Coordinator at Christ the King Parish, which includes overseeing the daily operation of St. Christine Soup Kitchen, Food pantry, and Social Service Office which includes The St. Vincent de Paul Society.
She is also pursuing a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry at Sacred Heart Seminary.
Sr. Magdalena Kimberly - Soup Kitchen Manager
Sister Magdalena is a member of the Anamchara Fellowship, which is a dispersed Episcopalian Order with roots in Celtic spirituality. She has a degree in culinary arts, an associate's degree in dietetics and a bachelor's degree in management. Prior to joining her Order, she had 30 years' experience in the food industry, primarily in school nutrition and lunch programs in inner city schools. While she has had the opportunity over her career to work with several chefs, she believes in learning her craft from others who have worked their way up from the kitchen.
She lives in South Lyon with her rescue dog, Rosalee.
Molly Sanford - Food Pantry Manager
A native of North Carolina, Molly received her bachelor's degree from UNC at Asheville. Since her graduation in 2012, she completed a year of volunteer service at the Franciscan Outreach in Chicago. There she lived in community and worked full time in a soup kitchen. Currently, Molly is once again living in community with Christ the King Service Corps. In addition to managing the pantry, she is pursuing a master's degree at WSU in business anthropology. She hopes to integrate her passion for food justice with corporate social responsibility programs.
