How can I receive help?

Everyone is welcome to participate in the community meals at the Soup Kitchen. To receive groceries, you must live within the 48223 zip code or within the 48219 zip code, south of Seven Mile and west of Outer Drive and complete an intake process. To receive emergency assistance through St. Vincent de Paul workers, come to the Office Center. For more information, please click here.

How can I help?

If you have social work skills, you can help assess the needs of residents and help them get services.

If you have computer skills, you can help keep our old computers working. Computer monitors and teachers are also needed to help supervise and help clients do job searches, set up/read email, or create a resume.

If you have a vehicle and/or a strong back, we need volunteers on Monday in the food pantry to unload trucks of donations and then sort them. Tuesdays when the pantry is open, we need volunteers to help carry groceries for seniors or those with disabilities, to their cars.

If you like to garden, you can volunteer to help plant and maintain our garden.

If you like to work in the kitchen, you can volunteer with a group to prepare a meal, or help serve.

If you are willing to volunteer for any of the above mentioned items, please click here for more information.

How can I donate non-perishable items for the food pantry?

You may bring your items to the food pantry on Mondays. For delivery other days, please call (313) 995-8673 so we can arrange for someone to be there to meet you. For more information about what we need, please click here.

How can I make a monetary donation to help continue this important work?

More than 25% of our operating budget comes from private and memorial donations. If you would like to help make the good works of St. Christine's possible by making a monetary donation, please click here for more information.
